MANAGER Mick Bunyan SQUAD Tom Arnold, Aiden Bunyan, Reece Clarke, Harry Dixon, Jack Godden, Harry Goodhand, James Haxell, Luke Hicks, Dan McCarthy, Adam Perch, Jack Voyce. FIXTURES AND MATCH REPORTS Sunday 11th Sept Toddington Rovers Tigers 0 v Luton Boys Redsox 2 A much anticipated first game of the season didn't quite go to plan. In the first ten minutes both teams went close on several occassions but it was Luton who broke the deadlock. Twenty minutes in and we were almost 2 down when they crashed a shot against the crossbar. The boys went out in the second half determined to get a goal back and after 3 minutes it looked like we had, only for the referee to rule it out as the Luton goal kick had not gone out the area and had to be re-taken. (Gonna have to up his bribe for the next home match). The lads didnt let this affect them though and continued to battle, but with 10 minutes left to play Luton scored their 2nd. Man of the match was Tom Arnold. Sunday 18th Sept Markyate Youth 1 v Toddington Rovers Tigers 1 Our first away game of the season and our first point. The boys had their opportunities in the first half but its fair to say that Markyate were worth their 1 goal lead at half time. The second half started well for us though and before long our persistence paid of with a headed goal from Reece Clarke. Although they came under a lot of pressure towards the end of the match the boys held out to gain a well deserved point. Man of the match was Harry Goodhand Sunday 26th Sept Free week Sunday 2nd Oct Barton Rovers v Toddington Rovers Tigers A well contested match that could have gone either way at half time but Barton were much the stronger team and could have scored more but for the great goalkeeping from Jack Voyce that we have come to rely on too much. Man of the match was Jack Voyce Sunday 9th October Toddington Rovers Tigers v AFC Kempston Colts Tigers A very windy morning saw both teams struggling in the conditions. Kempston took the lead in the first half but only a goal down at half time we new we could still get something from the game. The wind played its part in the second half with Kempston conceeding an own goal and a cruel bounce deceiving Jack in goal to give them the winner. Hitting the bar and having a goal ruled out because the referee hadnt blown his whistle for the free kick was a cruel blow but it didnt dampen the boys hearts and they fought to the last. Man of the match Harry Dixon.
