09/10 Under 13 A
23RD May 2010 LEAGUE CUP FINAL Leighton Town v Toddy Rovers
Squad; Niall, Nahum, Joe, Sam, T, Hyps, Corey, Callum, Jam, Sanmi, Chaz, Jake and Stevie
What a superb day out for all involved with the Toddy Rovers Barmy Army.
The day started off with all the players meeting around the Managers house for a bit of toast and plenty of banter, a few photos of the boys looking very smart and off we went in our minibus to play on Luton Towns pitch....what an experience.
We arrived at 9.30am and were given the Home changing rooms. After a little walk around the pitch and a few more photos it was time to change into kit and warm ourselves up for the game ahead, the League Cup Final.
It was lovely to see the boys walk down the tunnel and they all looked the full part including the two mascots Shannon and Kyle. After lining up for the respect handshake with the Leighton boys it was time to kick off.
1st Half The game couldn’t have started much better for Toddy. After just 27 seconds Sanmi broke through and got behind the Leighton defence to finish off with a clinical strike to make it 1 nil. With the boys playing on a bigger pitch than they were used to and in the sweltering heat, this was always going to be a tough game. Leighton seemed to have more of the ball but it was Toddy who were creating the better chances, including hitting the post from a corner. Leighton did have a good chance towards the end of the 1st half, a goal mouth scramble that seemed to last 20 mins (but was probably only 20 seconds) but the boys at the back and Niall dealt with it to keep the score 1 nil at half time.
2nd Half The boys came out the 2nd Half and seemed to up their tempo, passing the ball a lot quicker and finding space all over the park. The toddy lads started to create good chances and on 51 mins they doubled their lead when Sanmi broke down the right and put the ball across the Leighton keeper, although there was a Leighton defender there, he could do nothing to keep it out. 2-0 Toddy. The 3rd goal of the game came 2 mins later when Stevie broke through and very Messi like chipped the oncoming keeper to make it 3-0. The toddy boys were really starting to enjoy the game by now and seemed to find another gear. They created more chances and found lots of space with some great moving and passing but could not convert anymore goals, so it stayed 3-0 Toddy and worthy winners. Throughout the whole game there was great support from both sets of fans and the cheering and applauding of both teams carried on until both teams had left the pitch. MOM today was picked by the CYL officials who chose Corey from the centre of midfield. He was big, strong and worked tirelessly the whole game showing great passing abilities and tremendous energy.
A big thank you to all involved in the great day out, from League Representatives to family, friends and supporters of both teams. Also a big thank you to Danny, Phil and their superb squad who battled hard to made it a good game throughout.
Everyone today in a Toddy kit did their bit and a little more, fully deserving the rewards today after a very good season finishing off runners up in Div 1 and LEAGUE CUP WINNERS. Tony, Steve and all your families are very proud of all of you.
16th May 2010 League Cup Semi Final Toddy v Kempston
Squad; Niall, Joe, Nahum, Joe, Sam, T, Steve, Corey, Callum, Jam, Hyps, Chaz and Sanmi
Rock solid performance from all the boys yet again today, with all 12 lads putting in their all for the team. Toddy had nearly all the game in the first half and came off at half time 2 nil up. The goals came on 10 mins from Callum, a pile driver from 25 yds that hit off the post and went in. The 2nd came on 30 mins after some good work from Callum, Steve and Samni who picked out the very good run from Chaz who slotted in on the near post.
2nd Half
The 2nd Half turned into more of a kicking game with neither side able to get the ball down. Kempston scored with 17 mins left to make it 2-1. Kempston did manage to make a couple more chances mainly from free kicks but couldn’t take any and Toddy punished them for this with 3 mins left when Chaz finished off the game with another good strikers goal on the near post.
Final score 3-1 Toddy and the prize a trip to Kenilworth Road for the Final against Leighton on Sunday 23rd May 10.30 K.O.
M.O.M today was again a tough call and in the end the players picked. Their choice was the whole of the back line, Niall, Sam, Joe, T, Nahum and Callum. A good choice I think, well done boys and well done Toddy.
A big thanks to the extra supporters who came down today to cheer us on......see you next week for the Final!!!!
Squad; Niall, Jake, Sam, Callum, T, Hyps, Joe, Corey, Jam, Sanmi, Chaz, Steve and Nahum
A much changed Bedford team from the one in the cup a week earlier and they gave Toddy a very tough game today going 2 nil up in the 1st 11 mins. Toddy hit back with goals from Corey and Chaz to make it 2-2, Bedford scored again on 30 mins making it 3-2, and this is how it stayed at half time. 3-2 Bedford. Bedford always looked threatening going forward but it was Toddy who levelled through Jam on 47 mins. Jam then added another on 63 mins to make it 4-3 to Toddy. With only 3 mins left Bedford hit the equalizer when a timid shot that bounced up hitting Niall on the top of his arm and agonisingly squirming up in to the top corner. Well done to the boys today who showed great spirit in fighting back from being 2 nil down to nearly clinching the win. M.O.M today goes to Corey who had a tough game against a tough opponent from Luton Towns School of Excellence and gave it his all.
Squad; Niall, Jake ,Sam, Joe, T, Hyps, Callum, Corey, Jam, Steve, Chaz and Nahum Another good result today with Toddy running out 4-1 winners. The 1st goal came just two mins in when Jam looped in a header over the top of the Crawley keeper. Crawley hit their goal on 20 mins to level the scores and make it 1 all at half time. 2nd half The boys stepped it up in the 2nd half and started to move the ball a lot quicker. Toddy were gifted two goals when the Crawley boys seemed to turn off at the back and let in Nahum to score on 36 mins and then Corey 5 mins later to make it 3-1. Steve made it 4-1 on 59 mins with a great strike from 25 yds finding the bottom left hand corner.
M.O.M today could yet again have gone to a number of players, but the boy’s choice was T who yet again was superb at left back. Well done T and well done boys.
Squad; Steve, Nahum, Joe, Sam, T, Hyps, Corey, Callum, Jam, Sanmi and Chaz
The best game I have been involved with at Toddy. A superb team performance with the bare eleven and Stevie in goal for the injured Niall. The boys came out on fire from the start, full of commitment and desire. Toddy opened the scoring on 9 mins when Jam got the ball and unleashed a shot from 20 yds which flew into the bottom corner giving the keeper no chance. Sanmi added another on 15 mins to make it 2 nil. Crawley hit 1 back a minute later to make it 2-1. Toddy were still playing well and winning individual battles all over the pitch. Hyps went through on 25 mins and beat the keeper to the ball and calmly slotted home with a neat finish to make it 3-1 Toddy. Crawley hit 1 back 4 mins from the half to make it 3-2 at half time. The 2nd half started well for Toddy and Sanmi added the fourth goal on 40 mins to make it 4-2. Toddy were still on top and created the better chances but couldn’t add any more goals. Crawley were pushing on and did strike the upright in the 2nd half but some good defending and hard work kept them out. Excellent performance today, a pleasure to watch and to be involved with the boys today. M.O.M goes to all eleven boys today who were superb and played their socks off. Well done boys.
Squad; Steve, Jake, Joe, Sam, T, Hyps, Corey, Callum, Jam, Chaz and Sanmi
Playing against a weakened Bedford team Toddy took full advantage from the start, hitting the post in the 1st minute. It did take toddy until the 16th minute to open the scoring but then the goals followed on from that. Goals came from Callum, Joe, Chaz 4, Sanmi 3, and the game ended 10-1 to Toddy. Very good team performance today with Joe taking M.O.M for his great team play and awareness on the pitch.
Squad; Steve, Jake, Joe, Sam, T, Hyps, Callum, Corey Jam, Sanmi, Chaz and Nahum
As expected a very tough game against a strong Dunstable side. The 1st half stayed goalless with Toddy having the better chances with Jam putting over the bar on 25 mins when he should have done better. 2nd Half Sanmi opened the scoring on 54 mins with a clinical finish to make it 1 nil Toddy. Callum nearly added another 4 mins later but his effort rebounded off the post. Toddy kept Dunstable to long range efforts and Steve had to make two smart saves in goal. Dunstable scored with 2 mins left to make it 1 all. It was gutting to concede a goal so late but a draw was probably a fair result on the day. M.O.M today goes to Hyps for his hard work up and down the right hand side. Well done Hyps and well done boys.
Lea Sports 0 v 4 Toddy
Squad; Stevie, Callum, Jake, Sam, T, Hyps, Corey, Joe, Jam, Sanmi, Chaz and Nahum
Yet again a very good team performance with Toddy on top from the start. The game ended up a comfortable 4 nil win with 2 goals in each half. The 1st two coming from Corey, the 1st a header from a corner and the 2nd after some good team play, a neat finish from the right hand side.
2nd half Hyps scored the 3rd on 40 mins, a shot from 20 yds which squirmed under the Lea keeper. On 47 mins the game was finished off when the excellent Callum took on 2 players on the left hand side of the box and cut inside another before calmly slotting it home into the bottom right hand corner. A good solid team performance today and a clean sheet with the agile Steve in goal filling in for the injured Niall.
M.O.M today again could of gone to a number of players, but it was Corey who was picked today for his two first half goals and his hard work in the centre of midfield. Well done boys and well done Corey.
Toddy 1 – 0 Lea Sports
Squad; Niall, Joe, Jake, Sam, T, Stevie, Corey, Callum, Jam, Samni and Chaz
Two evenly matched teams on the day. Toddy just ahead on possession and chances created, but finding the Lea Sports keeper on very good form today to deny them. H.T 0-0
Toddy lost Niall due to injury early in the 2nd half and had to play the rest of the game with 10 men. This didn’t stop them pushing on and Callum scored what turned out to be the winner on 53 mins. Great team performance today and some hard work seeing us through to the final whistle. F.T 1-0 Toddy The boys all performed well today and worked hard when down to the 10 men, a big thanks to Stevie who had to squeeze into Nialls shirt and go in goal.
M.O.M today goes to Jake, the pocket rocket who’s tackling and desire for the ball made him stand out. Well done Jake and well done boys.
Toddy 0 v 2 Leighton Town
Squad; Niall, Jake, Nahum, Sam, T, Hyps, Corey, Joe, Jam, Callum, Chaz and Stevie
1st Half
1st Half was pretty much dominated by Toddy whose boys were playing some lovely football creating chance after chance but not able to find the net due to some poor finishing but most of all some outstanding keeping from Leighton’s No 1 Leighton took the lead on 20 mins when Toddy boys stopped after hearing the whistle go from the other pitch and the Leighton striker ran through to slot home. 1 nil Leighton. Toddy carried on piling on the pressure but still failed to score, much to most people’s amazement. H.T 1 nil Leighton.
2nd Half
The 2nd Half was pretty much the same with Toddy on the upper foot but unable to score. With Toddy pushing on, Leighton had some break away chances of their own in the last ten minutes of the half seeing 2 very good chances crash off the underside of the bar when they should of scored. They did manage to score again with nearly the last kick of the game making it 2 nil F.T. 2-0 Leighton.
Not for the first time poor finishing cost us this game, although the all round performance was very good and the boys I feel deserved a little something out of the game.
M.O.M today could have gone to a few but Callum stood out most with his skilful play and hard work, unlucky not to score with the post denying him twice. Well done Callum and well done boys, good performance and unlucky with the result.
Toddy 6 v 0 Ampthill Squad; Niall, Joe, Jake, Sam, T, Hyps, Callum, Corey, Jam, Sanmi, Chaz, Stevie and Nahum
With Toddy at full strength and Ampthill with only 10 men this was a fairly comfortable win with 3 goals in either half. The goals came from Jam, Chaz, Joe and very good hat trick from Sanmi. The boys played very nice football and played as a team, not getting greedy which was pleasing. Fair play to the Town who battled hard even when going down to 9 men in the 2nd half through injury.
Mom today goes to Sanmi for a well taken hat trick. Well done Sanmi and well done boys.
Crawley C 4 v 4 Toddy after Extra time 4 – 5 Squad; Niall, Nahum, Joe, T, Sam, Hyps, Steve, Corey, Jam, Chaz, Callum, Sanmi
On a sticky and very wet pitch this turned out to be a very entertaining game. Toddy started off the better creating some good early pressure and some good chances in front of goal but the Crawley keeper was equal to them. Toddy did make it 1-0 on 19 mins when new boy Sanmi came off the bench and with his 2nd or 3rd touch got on the end of a through ball from Corey which he finished off with a little dink around the keeper to make it a dream debut. The game then turned and Crawley were on the upper foot and scored on 26 mins with a very good finish to make it 1-1 H.T.
2nd Half The 1st 10 mins of the 2nd half was all Crawley, who came out on fire scoring 3 goals on 38, 41 and 43 mins to really rattle Toddy. The game again changed and it was Toddy on top but it took them until the 59 min to get a goal back through some good play down the right from Hyps and Sanmi, who crossed for Chaz to sneak the ball home. 4 mins later and Callum finished with a good strike to make it 4-3 and put the pressure on Crawley. With only 2 mins left the excellent Hyps cut in from the right hand side and slotted the ball into the bottom corner to take the game into extra time.
Extra time 1st half Extra time was ten mins each way and the 1st half flew by with Toddy just on top but always wary of Crawley on the break. The game at this stage could have gone either way. Extra time 2nd Half Toddy kicking up the hill started off the better and was rewarded with a goal 4 mins into the 2nd half when the Crawley keeper parried a shot straight to Jam who had snuck up on the back post and he calmly finished to make it 5-4. F.T. 5-4 Toddy On the downside today we gave away a couple more sloppy goals which you cannot afford to do at this level. On the upside what superb battling back from all the boys who yet again never gave up and worked their socks off in some sticky conditions playing at times some very good football. Again on the upside, welcome to Sanmi who hasn’t played a lot of Football over the past couple of years but definitely did not look out of place and I am sure will get better and better. M.O.M some great performances again today but shading it was Corey, big and strong in the middle with some good touches and great passing. Well done boys
21st Feb 2010 Toddy 5-2 Valley Sports Squad; Niall, Jake, Joe, Sam, T, Hyps, Corey, Callum, Jam, Chaz, Steve
The boys got off to a flyer with 2 goals in the 1st 5mins. The 1st came from Chaz and the 2nd from Jam. The rest of the half Toddy were just on top but didn’t add any more goals until the 32nd min when Corey broke down the right hand side and his cross looped over the keeper and into the goal. (Corey said it was a shot!) H.T. – 3-0 Toddy
2nd Half
The 2nd Half seemed to see a new Valley team come onto the pitch as they won tackle after tackle and started to threaten the Toddy goal a lot more. They took only 5 mins to claw a goal back to make it 3-1. The game then evened out with chances at both ends but Valley just shading the play. Valley struck again on 55 mins to make it 3-2. Valley again had a couple of chances but the Toddy boys kept their heads and the finish of the game came on 65 mins when Toddy caught Valley on the break and a ball from Stevie to Chaz was well struck 1st time from the left hand corner of the box which sailed into the opposite corner of the goal to make it 4-2 Toddy. Stevie added another on 70 mins to make it 5-2 and a well deserved but hard fought win.
M.O.M today goes to Joe Grossi who was outstanding as sweeper to keep Valley at bay on a number of occasions. Well Done Joe and well done boys
7th Feb 2010 Squad; Niall, T, Jake, Sam, Joseph, Corey, Steve, Hyps, Jam, Charlie, Callum and Nahum QUARTER FINAL COUNTY CUP Toddy 4- 5 Oakley Rangers
A game worth of the final between two very good teams. Toddy started off the quicker with a couple of good chances, with one neatly finished by Chaz to put Toddy 1 nil up on 7 mins. Oakley replied with 2 quick goals on 10 and 15 mins. Toddy came back and must have created another 8 to 10 good chances but could not finish them due to some good defending and goal keeping from Oakley. Oakley added 2 more before the half on 29 and 34 mins to make it 4-1 at half time. Toddy in the 1st half created 10 to 12 good chances and came away with only 1 goal; Oakley created 5 and took 4 of them. Thats football. H.T 4-1 Oakley
2nd Half Toddy never gave up and came out guns blazing in the 2nd half and were rewarded on 42 mins with a goal from Jam. 4-2. Toddy were applying all the pressure but after missing more chances Oakley hit them on the break to make it 5-2 on 53 mins. Toddy never gave up and Chaz hit a goal back 3 mins later 5-3. Jam snuck in again and hit another on 56 mins to make it 5-4 and put the heat up on now nervous Oakley. Toddy pushed and pushed, creating chance after chance but some solid defending and poor finishing kept them from scoring. Final score 5-4 Oakley Taking away the poor defensive mistakes and the bad finishing in front of goal some great football was played all around today. The Toddy boys never gave up and fought until the final whistle, making Oakley work very hard for their victory. M.O.M today again could have gone to a few players with some good performances and hard work. Again Hyps, Jam, Callum and Corey were in the mix and two more goals from Chaz put him in it. But the player for me today was T who put in lots of work and some great tackles, with good desire and commitment. Well done T. Leighton Town 2 – 3 Toddy Squad; Niall, Nahum, Jake, Sam, T, Hyps, Jam, Corey, Steve, Callum, Chaz and Joseph It was a very sticky pitch but there was some good football played at times. The 1st half was fairly even although Toddy made the early chances but they could not capitalize with the Town keeper having a cracking game. It was Town who went ahead on 10 mins and then doubled their lead on 17 mins. Toddy pulled a goal back through Callum on 29 mins and the 1st half finished 2-1 to Town.
2nd Half Toddy pretty much dominated the 2nd half camping in the Towns half and 2 quick goals from Corey on 5 mins and Stevie a minute later put Toddy 3-2 up. Toddy had numerous chances to finish off the game but didn’t take them and the game ended 3-2 M.O.M was a tough call today with a few players up for it. It could have gone to Corey, Jam or Hyps but just piping them was Callum who worked very hard and showed us plenty of the skill we know he possesses. Well done Callum and well done boys.
Toddington Rovers 2 – 1 Bedford Town Eagles
Squad; Niall, Nahum, Joe, Sam, T, Hyps, Corey, Steve, Jam, Callum and Chaz
1st Half Toddy had the bare eleven today and a few of them were struggling with colds and things and this showed in the performance of the team. Toddy started off well enough and had good early chances. Toddy took the lead on 10 mins when Callums shot beat the keeper but came back off the underside of the bar but Chaz was there to hammer home the rebound. 1-0 Toddy and this is how it stayed until half time.
2nd Half It stayed 1-0 until the 63 min when Chaz finished again after some good work down the right side from Hyps. 2-0 Toddy. Eagles started the game with 10 men and played most of the 2nd half with 9 but battled really hard and created plenty of chances but couldn’t finish them off apart from one in the last couple of minutes of the game. This was one of Toddys worst team performances of the season and not very good to watch. Couple of decent shows today but the best of the rest was Joe Grossi who played at the back and swept up any trouble that came his way. Great reading of the game and solid. Well done Joe M.O.M
Clapham Colts 0 v 15 Toddy Squad; Niall, Jake, Tayler, Nahum, Sam, Hyps, Jam, Stevie, Joseph, Callum and Chaz
1st Half A very comfortable win with everyone on the score sheet except for Niall in goal. Hat tricks from Joe Grossi and Callum Smith, a brace from Jam and a goal apiece from everyone else. Goal of the game was between Sam Drapers header or Callums 25 yarder which hit the underside of the crossbar before going in. Tackle of the game goes to Chaz with a crunching challenge while playing an unorthodox position at left back.
Fair play to the Clapham boys who with only 10 men battled all the way to the final whistle.
Man of the Match today goes to everyone. Well done boys. 22nd Nov 2009 Valley Sports 3 v 2 Toddy Squad; Niall, Jake, Nahum, Sam, Tayler, Hyps, Jam, Steve, Joseph, Callum, Chaz and Corey
1st Half After our performance of the season 2 weeks ago against Dunstable this ended up a disappointing result. 3 or 4 of the boys were well under par and the passing and moving were missing in large parts of the game. Toddy did look the more likely to score but it was Valley who took the lead on 23 mins when a speculative shot from distance caught the wind and went in. Toddy equalized 4 mins later with a superb strike from a free kick from 25 yards out from Callum. Half time 1-1
2nd Half Toddy started off brightly and went ahead with another cracking goal from distance, this time from Chaz who cut in from the left and let fly again from around the 25 yard mark giving the keeper no chance. The lead only lasted another 2 mins before the ref awarded Valley a penalty which nobody at the game would have given including the Valley parents. This knocked the stuffing out of the boys and they went 3-2 down with 20 mins left. Toddy huffed and puffed and could not break down the Valley defence and they held on until the final whistle.
Nobody stood out this week on the field, so man of the match goes to the parents who stood out there in the wind and torrential rain cheering their boys on. Well done to the parents.
A.F.C Dunstable 1 v 3 Toddy Squad: Niall, Nahum, Joseph, Tayler, Sam, Steve, Jam, Callum, Corey, Hyps, Chaz, Tom, Jake.
1st Half The best game of the season so far for Toddy against a strong but under par Dunstable side. Toddy were sharper all over the park and it was no surprise when they went 1-0 up from a well taken goal from Callum who calmly slotted past the Dunstable keeper. Toddy carried on making chances and Chaz added the 2nd on 29 mins with a 25 yard screamer. 2-0 Toddy. Dunst did get a goal back just before the half when the Toddy defence fell asleep from a corner and the ball was slotted in from 6 yards out. Half time 2-1 Toddy
2nd Half Toddy carried on the 2nd half with the same tempo as the 1st and should of added more goals than just the one from Chaz again on 55 mins another great finish. The game ended 3-1 Toddy who thoroughly deserved their win. Man of the match today went to Stevie who played in the centre of midfield and was at the heart of most of Toddys moves winning tackles and headers in the middle of the park. Well done Stevie.
Great team performance again today and a pleasure to watch with some of the silky football played.
Squad; Niall, Joe, Nahum, Sam, Tayler, Hyps, Corey, Steve, Jam, Chaz, Levi, Jake, Tom The score line doesn’t do any justice to the way Toddy played today. The 1st Half Toddy looked in most places like the better side and were unlucky not to take the lead on 11 mins when Levi saw his header hit the bar. Crawley responded to this and on 15 mins with their 1st attack and a goal 1-0 Crawley.
The 2nd Half Crawley added 3 more goals on 49, 61 and 65 mins. The boys can hold their heads up high as they played very well today but for a few lapses against a good side which you cannot afford to do.
Well done to all the boys, if they play the way they did today against any other side I don’t think that they will go too far wrong. Another great team performance and all the boys worthy of the M.O.M award. Toddy 4 v 0 Biggleswade Utd Youth Squad: Niall, Nahum, Jake, Sam, Tom, Hyps, Corey, Joseph, Tayler, Callum, Chaz, Steve, Levi, Jam
1st Half A very good team performance again today and the boys played some good football against a dogged and well set up Biggleswade side. Toddy had most of the possession and created some good chances but took until the 26 min to take the 1st goal which Tayler buried from 6 yards out with his right hip. 1st Half 1-0 Toddy 2nd Half The second half was much the same with Toddy strong all over the pitch. Callum took an early goal with 4 mins on the clock, a screamer from 20 yards out which whistled into the top corner. 2-0 Toddy. Two more goals followed on 16 and 17 mins from Levi who raced through and calmly slotted past the oncoming keeper for a nice finish. The 4th from the hard working Chaz who hit a sweet shot that again the keeper had no chance of reaching 4-0 Toddy. Biggleswade battled hard today and worked until the end but never really threatened the Toddy goal, which showed how well Toddy played throughout the whole match. M.O.M This week was again a hard choice which is good. There were many candidates for this but pipping them was Nahum who played well as sweeper and even better at right back. Well done Nahum.
11th October Kempston 2 v 2 Toddy Squad: Niall, Jake, Tom, Nahum, Sam, Steve, Corey, Jam, Tayler, Hyps, Chaz, Levi
1st Half The game started off with both teams very quiet, but it was Kempston who seemed to want it more and this showed when they took the lead on 11 mins with a well taken bicycle kick which went in the bottom corner. 1 – 0 Kempston. Kempston increased their lead on 19 mins with a superb free kick from just outside the area. It took Toddy 28 mins to put any real football together and from this came a goal from Chaz. It was a disappointing 1st half from Toddy with only Corey standing out in midfield. Half time 2-1 Kempston. 2nd Half The 2nd half saw more effort from all the Toddy boys and with this came chances, they hit the post, the bar and forced the Kempston keeper into making some good saves. At the other end Niall himself had to make some good saves to keep Toddy in the game. With only injury time left Corey unleashed a ferocious left foot shot from 20 yards which the keeper could only watch fly into the top corner. Great goal and a good result 2-2 M.O.M M.O.M today unlike any game this season was easy to make as he stood out a mile, for effort, skill and determination and that goes to Corey. Well done Corey and thank you. Squad; Niall, Tom, Nahum, Sam, Tayler, Steve, Corey, Joseph, Jam, Callum, Chaz, Jake, Levi and Hyps
1st Half
It was a lovely morning for football and this turned out to be a very competitive game which could have gone either way. The first 20 mins went by with Toddy playing the better football but Crawley winning the most challenges around the park as they seemed hungrier in the tackle and quicker to react to the ball. Toddy’s main chances came from corners early on but they couldn’t capitalize on these and it was Crawley who took the lead on 20 mins when their forward raced through and slotted home with a nice finish. It took 8 mins for Toddy for level up when Stevie slotted in Chaz who got a good shot away that the keeper could only parry and Jam was there to slot home. 1-1 Half time.
2nd Half
Crawley got off to a flier and scored within 2 mins of the restart, when after some shoddy defending it was bundled in from close range. 2-1 Crawley. Crawley could have increased their lead but failed to do so and were made to pay for this later on. On 23 mins some hard work and good running from Chaz who finished off at the second attempt to make it 2-2. Then with only a minute left on the clock Toddy sealed things with a breakaway down the right and a great cross which Levi bundled in. 3-2 Toddy. Near enough straight away Toddy scored again with a ball over the top from Corey and a neat lob from Chaz over the keeper. 4-2 Toddy. Full time
M.O.M today goes to Tayler who yet again was superb at left back and hardly put a foot wrong. Well done to all the lads who battled until the end and were rewarded with 3 points.
