Girls Under 13 Match Report

Saturday 7th January

Langford v Toddington Rovers

Our First Match Back After Christmas And We Had Eight Girls And Langford Also Agreed To Play With Eight. We Had A Great Start With All Our Girls In A Positive Mood,They Were Passing The Ball To Each Other And Ellie Even Managed To Header The Ball,Not Once But Twice!!Holly Was Tackling Well And Had Several Runs Towards The Goal,And Chloe Got The Ball And Had A Good Run Up The Line But Unfortunately Could Not Get Close Enough To Have A Shot.Corina Was Once Again Making Some Excellent Saves,But With The Girls Playing So Well Corina Managed To Have A Breather Between Saves. Not Only Did We Get Out Of Our Own Half We Managed To Win A Corner. By Half Time The Score Was 0-0. In The Second Half All Our Girls Continued To Play Really Good Football Pheobe Got Control Of The Ball Several Times And Did Some Lovely Passes To Tori Who Was also Passing The Ball Well And Tori Was Also Tackling Well And She Was A Good Captain. Millie Was Defending Well,She Was Stopping The Langford Girls Well And Emilia Was Also A Great Defender They Both Seemed To Be Hungry For The Ball. With Five Minutes To Go We Conceeded A Goal,But That Did Not Stop The Girls From Trying And In The Last Seconds Of The Game We Had A Shot At Goal And Nearly Scored! I Feel This Was By Far Our Best Game To Date, It Was A Joy To Watch And I Hope The Girls Continue To Strive And Play As Well As They Did Today. Great Job

Final Score: Langford 1 - Toddington Rovers 0

Saturday 10th December

AFC Kempston Colts v Toddington Rovers

Todays Game Was Always Going To Be A Tough Match Because We Only Had Seven Girls,Tori Was Away And The Other Team Had Alot Of Girls So They Played With Eight. From The Start The Goals Started Coming In Thick And Fast,Despite Corinas Best Efforts.Corina Was Though Making Some Wonderful Saves. The First Half Of The Game Was All One Sided And Our Girls Were Really Struggling By Half Time The Score Was 13-0. But I Have To Say The Girls Still Started The Second Half With Smiles On Their Faces! And I Feel We Played Much Better In The Second Half,Holly Moved Into Defence With Emilia And Millie And With Holly Being Team Captain She Started To Talk More And Tell The Girls Where She Wanted Them To Be.Chloe,Ellie And Pheobe Were Beginning To Pass The Ball To Each Other And All Three Did Some Lovely Passing And Seemed To Have Abit More Control Of The Ball As Opposed To The First Half.Once Again Corina Made Some Lovely Saves,She Continues To Work Really Well In Goal.Unfortunately The Final Score Was 19-0,But As I've Said Before The Girls Were Still Smiling.

Final Score : AFC Kempston Colts 19 - Toddington Rovers 0

Player Of The Match : Pheobe

Saturday 26th November

Stotfold Juniors v Toddington Rovers

This Game We Started With Seven Girls,Pheobe Was Unable To Join Us,But Stotfold In The End Also Decided To Play With Seven. Also We Had A Smaller Pitch To Play On Which Was Much Better For The Girls  .The First Half Of The Game We Seemed To Be Evenly Matched,Holly Hit The Goal Post From A Goal Kick! Corina Was Making Some Excellent Saves,Millie Blocked An Attack From Stotfold And She Had A Great Run Down The Pitch Beating Two To Three Players On Her Way And Took A Shot At Goal.Tori Also Managed To Have a Shot At Goal,We Were Unlucky Not To Be Ahead At Half Time Although It Was Only 0-0.In The Second Half Chloe Came Close To Scoring And Emilia Was Doing A Great Job In Defence Alongside Chloe And Millie.Ellie Was Working Her Socks Off In Midfield. In The Last Fifteen Minutes The Girls Seem To Tire And Conceeded Four Goals And Two Of Them Came In The Last Five Minutes.By Far Our Best Match To Date,Well Done Girls.

Player Of The Match : Millie

Final Score : Stotfold Juniors 4 - Toddington Rovers 0

Bedford Girls v Toddington Rovers

Cup Match: Due To No Referee Turning Up We Had A Late Kick Off Today,We Eventually Got A Ref And We Kicked Off At 11am.Emilia Started The Game With Some Great Defending,Ellie And Chloe Were Doing Some Lovely Passes To Each Other And Were Making Good Use Of The Pitch.Once Again Corina Made Some Wonderful Saves Especially As I Feel This Girl Has One Of The Hardest Jobs On The Pitch.Millie Was Defending Well,But By Half Time We Was 7-0 Down.Unfortunately During The First Half Of The Game Hollys Ankle Was Starting To Hurt Which Made It Impossible For To Continue.Early On In The Second Half Ellie Had A Good Run,She Was Playing Well,Also Pheobe Had A Run Towards Goal.Chloe Moved Into Defence For The Second Half And She Seemed To Work Well Alongside Emilia And Millie,Although She Did Score An Own Goal! Towards The End Of The Match Tori And Pheobe Seemed To Play Really Well And Both Girls Got The Ball Somewhere Near Our Opponents Goal,Giving Corina A Minutes Rest.Tori Even Had A Shot At Goal.

Final Score : Bedford Girls 16- Toddington Rovers 0

Saturday 5th November

Toddington Rovers v Knebworth

We Only Had Seven Girls For This Game, Emilia Was Away And Obviously Charly Is Still A Long Way From Playing Again. Knebworth However Agreed To Play Seven Aswell. As Usual We Started The Game In Good  Spirits,The Game Seemed To Be 50-50. Corina Was Once Again Making Some Great Saves, And Millie Was Tackling And Defending Well,But Unfortunately Knebworth Scored After Fifteen Minutes.Soon After Ellie Had A Great Run Towards Goal And Holly Had A Shot At Goal.Knebworth Scored Again After Twenty Minutes And By Half Time The Score Was 3-0.The Second Half Pheobe Was Making Some Good Tackles,But The Knebworth Girls Seemed To Start Scoring Goal After Goal.As The Second Half Went On Our Girls Seemed To Build In Strength,They Started Attacking And Seemed Hungry For The Ball.Torri Did Some Good Passes And Ellie Was Really Hungry For The Ball,Chloe Did A Good Job In Defence And Holly Managed To Have A Couple Of Chances To Get Near The Goal And One Went Over The Bar And Another Hit The Post.Corina Was Doing An Excellent Job In Goal And Made Some Excellent Saves Unfortunately By Full Time The Score Was 10-0,But This Score Does Not Reflect How Hard Our Girls Worked Today.

Final Score : Toddington Rovers 0 - Knebworth 10

Player Of The Match : Holly

Saturday 22nd October

Flitwick Eagles v Toddington Rovers

Our First Away Match For Quite A Few Weeks,We Had No Ellie Because She Was Unavailable And Charly Is Out Of Action For A Good Few Weeks Because Of Her Broken Foot. The Girls Started The Game In Good Spirits But Unfortunately The Goals Soon Started Coming In And We Seemed To Switch Off For Most Of The First Half, By Half Time The Score Was 6-0.However Andy And Nick Must Have Given The Girls A Good Team Talk And A Different Side Came Out For The Second Half. All Our Girls Seemed To Be Passing The Ball Well And Pheobe Was Really Wanting The Ball,Torri Did Some Lovely Tackling.Unfortunately The Ball Trickled Out Of Corinas Hands And Into The Goal,But Only After She Had Made Some Wonderful Saves. The Girls Seemed To Go From Strength To Strength And Holly Scored A Goal Off Of A Wonderful Pass From Chloe.Chloe Herself Had A Few Chances At Goal After Making Some Lovely Runs Down The Line.Millie And Emilia Both Seemed To Be Suffering With Their Knees But Never Gave Up And They Both Seem To Be Using The Offside Rule To Their Advantage.Corina Did A Really Good Job In Goal And Made Some Great Saves In The Second Half.

Final Score Flitwick Eagles 8 - Toddington Rovers 1

Player Of The Match : Millie

Toddington Rovers v Bedford Girls

For This Match We Only Had Seven Girls,Emilia And Pheobe Where Unavailable, also Andy Was Not With Us,But The Bedford Girls Kindly Agreed To Also Play Seven So The Match Was Fair.We Started The Game Very Well,Torri,Chloe And Millie Were Brilliant Defenders,They Talked To Each Other And Were Doing A Good Job,However Some Got Past Them And Although Charly Made Some Good Saves Especially One That Rebounded Off Of Her After Having Made An Excellent Save,Some Goals Went In,I Say Some By Half Time We Was 6-0 Down!In The Second Half I Feel We Played A Better Game Of Football,Torri Did Some Good Passing,Chloe Was A Great Captain Trying To Keep The Team In Order.Corina Was Always Hungry For The Ball And Was Not Afraid To Get Stuck In,Ellie Managed To Get The Ball And Made Some Good Runs And Some Great Tackling.Millie Was Quick To The Ball And Took Some Of The Pressure Off Of Charly.Unfortunately The Bedford Girls Kept ScoringAnd With Five Minutes To Go We Was 11-0 Down,But We Then Had A Penalty Given To Us And Fabulous Holly Scored! But The Bedford Girls Followed Up With Another Goal.

Saturday 1st October

Toddington Rovers v Leighton United

This Match Was By Far The Toughest Match Our Girls Have Played To Date,First Off We Only Had 8 Players Ellie Was Away And Leighton United Decided To Play With 9 Players On Their Side, So We Were Playing With 1 Player Short. The Weather Was An Absolute Scorcher Even At 10.30am! The Girls Started Off The Match Really Well,They Were Really Giving Leighton a Run For There Money With Emilia And Millie Once Again Doing Well In Defence,These Girls Managed To Clear A Couple Of Good Attacks From Leighton But Unfortunately Some Got Passed Them And Charly Was Unable To Save Them.Torri Had An Excellent Game Running Up And Down Out On The Right Wing And Pheobe Did Really Well On The Left Side.At Half Time The Girls Were Really Feeling The Heat But They All Started The Second Half In Good Spirits.Holly And Corina Did Some Lovely Tackling And Chloe Did A Grand Job As Captain.Charly Made Some Good Saves In The Second Half And Also Did Some Wonderful Kicks. With Five Minutes Left To Go The Manager Of The Other Team Let Us Have Two Of Subs So We Could Make The Game A Bit More Even.Once Again The Girls Tried Really Hard Especially In The Hot Weather And Even Though They All Had Red Faces At The End,They Were All Still Smiling!

Player Of The Match: Millie

Final Score: Toddington Rovers 0- Leighton United 7

Saturday 24th September

Toddington Rovers v Leighton Park Rangers

Finally Our First Home Match Of The Season,The Girls Once Again Started With Great Enthusiasm.Unfortunately Pheobe Was Unwell Prior To Kick Off And Had To Miss The Match,Which Left Us Playing 8 Aside And Holly Was Playing With An Ankle Injury,However We Started The Match In Glorious Sunshine. Millie And Emilia Once Again Defended Brilliantly,Millie Took A Couple Of Strong Tackles But Soldiered On. Sadly Charly Let A Couple Of Goals In In The First Half But Really Came Into Her Own And Made Some Good Saves In The Second Half. At Half Time Being 3-0 Down We Changed Formation By Putting Corina Into Midfield Which Seemed To Help The Girls. After Narrowing Missing A Goal Holly Got It Into The Back Of The Net And Scored Our First Goal Of The Season! From Then Onwards The Girls Started To Believe In Themselves And Soon After We Scored Again With A Shot From Chloe That Nearly Crossed The Line And Corina Followed Up To Make Sure It Went In. Torri Worked Very Hard On The Right Hand Side Of The Pitch,And Ellie Was As Usual A Strong Member Of The Team. All The Girls Played Extremely Well In The Heat  And Could Have Benefited From A Breather.

     Player Of The Match: Emilia

     Final Score:Toddington Rovers 2 - Leighton Park Rangers 5

Saturday 17th September

Toddington Rovers v E.B Lions Away

The Girls Started Off The Season With Much Enthusiasm, Unfortunately We Conceded An Own Goal After Ten Minutes But They Didn't Let It Discourage Them. We Showed Some Good Attacking Runs Down The Left With Chloe While Corina And Ellie Were Doing A Sound Job In The Middle.

By Half Time We Was 4-0 Down But The Girls Come Out Fighting In The Second Half, Emilia And Millie Did There Best In Defense,While Charly Made Some Great Saves Throughout However They Seemed To Be Overrun By A Strong Attack  Which Was Backed Up Well By The Mid- Field. Both Holly And Millie Had To Come Off For A Short Time With Injuries But Returned To The Game. The Girls Seemed To Tire Playing On A Bigger Pitch For The First Time This Season And Also Playing The Off-Side Rule For the First Time Which For Some Of The Girls Was The First Time. Player Of The Match Was Tori For Some Solid Runs Down The Right Hand Side Of The Pitch. The Girls Seemed To Enjoy The Season Finally Starting And We All Look Forward To The Next Game.

     Player Of The Match: Torri

Final Score Toddington Rovers 0-10 E.B. Lions
