Toddy 1 v 0 West Bletchley (League Cup)

League Cup today against a team who have already turned us over twice in the league and are yet to be beaten.

Toddy boys were well up for this and the two previous league games were tighter than the score lines suggest, so the boys knew they could give WB a game.

The game was very tight with both sides putting in plenty of effort and showing good battling qualities as well as football skill.

With the back line of Niall, Callum, Nahum, Keenan and Billy like rocks WB failed to create too many chances and Toddy were showing more promise in front of goal.  Matty took his chance on 24 mins when his strength and power showed as he went through two defenders and hammered home from a tight angle.  Toddy had a couple more chances this half but failed to convert.  Half time 1-0 Toddy.

2nd Half

The second half was very tight with few chances although  the best of them fell to Toddy with Corey smashing the bar and efforts from Chaz and Matty drifting just wide.  Still at 1 nil it was tight and Niall did make a superb double save late on to keep WB at bay.

In a very competitive game Toddy held on 1 nil to win against a solid WB team.

MOM

Again today it was a hard choice which is how it should be.  All the boys were superb from Niall and his back line, Corey and Jamie in the centre.  Jam, Kai and the hard working Hyps and Chaz and Matt up front.  Also thanks to Sam, Joe and Tayler who turned up kitted out although they were injured.

Corey just ahead for MOM for tireless work in the middle, showing a great will to win attitude.  Well done Corey and well done boys.

20th November 2011

Luton Boys 0 v 6 Toddy

Another good team performance today with the boys showing good discipline and playing lovely football, creating numerous chances.

Four goals in the 1st half with strikes from Chaz, Callum Corey and a dubious one given to Corey who was quick to claim it.

2nd Half saw the new boy Keenan score a goal on his debut and Matt finishing off the scoring to make it 6-0.

Every player done their bit today and just pippin Kai for MOM  was Sam who never put a foot wrong the whole game and controlled the back line. Well done Sam.

Well done boys.

Toddy 9 v 0 Flamstead

Good squad performance again today with every boy playing their bit for the team.  As the score line shows Toddy were always in control of this game.  It was 4 nil at half time with a brace from Callum and one each for Matty and Joe.

The 2nd half Toddy added another five with 2 more for Matty and one each for Kai, Joe and Chaz.

MOM today goes to Callum who was superb up front and equally good when he dropped to centre back.

The good thing about today’s game was that even though it was a comfortable win, the lads all kept their discipline on the pitch and kept playing football and not getting greedy.  Well done boys.

6th November 2011

AFC Dunstable 1 v 3 Toddy   County Cup

A very tough and physical game today against AFC Dunstable who were well up for it. Toddy were the better team in the 1st half and came off 1 nil up thanks to a well converted pen by Chaz

The 2nd half was more even but Toddy stretched their lead to 2 on 65 mins with another well taken goal from Chaz.  Dunstable hit a goal back 2 mins later to make it a nervy last 13 mins.  Dunst pushed on as they had to and got caught out with a quick break away leaving Chaz one on one with keeper which he calmly slotted home to make it 3-1 and finish off the game.

There were plenty of candidates again this week for MOM and Chaz was up there for his 3 goals but just edging it in front of him and Corey was Jam who put in a great display, calm on the ball and good defensive work.  Well done Jam and well done boys.

30th October 2011

Crawley Green Hoops 1 v 0 Toddy

Two very good sides met today in the league and both teams put in good performances.  There wasn’t many chances created throughout the game and that was down to two very well disciplined teams.  Crawley took the lead on 19 mins when Toddy turned off for a split second from a throw in and got punished for it.  H.T 1 – 0 Crawley.2nd Half was again full of good football but without creating too many chances.  Hyps nearly picked up a point for Toddy with ten mins left when a corner came in and from the clearance Hyps hit the ball as sweet as from 25yds, even the keeper could only watch it as it smashed onto the outside of the upright.

Great team performance again today with all the squad putting in a good performance.  Just shading it for M.O.M over many other choices was Billy Madi who was a rock at the back along with Joe Grossi.  Heads up boys, you are playing very well in a tough league.

23rd October 2011

Kempston Lions 0 v 2 Toddy

1st round of the League cup today against another Div 1 team in Kempston Lions.  Toddy started off well and got ahead on 7 mins when Callum was put through and calmly slotted home past the oncoming keeper. Toddy had the edge for most of the game and after some good work down the right, Hyps who put through Matt who was then taken down in the area for a pen to Toddy.  Chaz calmly stepped up to slot home.  H.T 2 – 0 Toddy

2nd Half was fairly scrappy with Toddy in control but the Lions never giving up and fighting all the way.

Full time 2 – 0 Toddy

M.O.M today was a close shout between Billy who was immense at with back and Nahum who was up and down the field from right back to right wing.  Nahum gets the nod for his hard work and tireless running.

Well done boys.

16th October 2011-11-02

West Bletchley v Toddy

Excellent squad performance again today and the score line doesn’t reflect on the way the game went.  WB went 1 – nil up on 10 mins after Toddy had the majority of the ball.  Toddy had 3 one on ones in the 1st half but couldn’t take any of them.  WB always looked a threat from set pieces.  H.T 1 – 0 WB

2nd Half 5 mins after the break Toddy struck back when a free kick from Joe Grossi was deflected into the path of Corey who slammed it home from close range.  The rest of the 2nd half stayed fairly even with both sides creating chances.  Toddy turned off in 51 mins when a corner was met unchallenged 6 yds out and fired in.  Toddy pushed for the equaliser but again came unstuck on 73 mins when they turned off from a free kick to let the ball bounce twice in the area before being buried.  4 mins later WB struck the 4th and game over.  Final score 4-1 WB

All round a good performance today but we must work on set pieces for and against.  Some good displays by all but MOM goes to Nahum who played very well against a good player.  Heads up boys, you all played very well again.

9th October 2011

Toddy 8v 2 Leighton Town

Yet another superb performance today from all the lads.  Got off to a slow start when Leighton scored in the 1st 3 mins when a speculative shot from the edge of the area looped over Jam in goal who was deputizing for the injured Niall.

It didn’t take Toddy long to hit back and Matt scored on 7 mins with a neat finish.  Toddy were in control of the game with Hyps, Sam, T and Joe dominant at the back and Corey, Samni, Kai and Matt in control of the midfield.  Jamie and Chaz causing all sorts of problems up front.  Nahum came on on 20 mins with new signing Billy Madi and it didn’t take long for Toddy to score.  2nd goal came from a shot from Joe which was deflected in by a Town defender.  Shortly after came the goal of the game when a short corner was taken by Joe on the right to Nahum and back to Joe who hit a great crossfield shot which flew into the top corner.

H.T 3 – 1

2nd Half

2nd Half was dominated by Toddy who ran riot with a nine minute hat trick from Chaz with some well taken goals on 47. 50 and 55 mins.  Samni struck on 59 mins when he beat the keeper with a one on one to make it 7-1 Toddy. Town were awarded a pen on 76 mins when Jam was judged to have taken down the town forward in the box.  The town player stepped up to slot it home, Jam was unlucky as he did get his fingers to it.  8-2 Toddy.

M.O.M

Again many good performances on the park today, with great hard work commitment and some cool finishing.  A great debut game for Billy who slotted in very well to a good team.  Apart from the goal scorers there was some great build up play from Jamie, Kai Corey, T, Hyps and Nahum, but m.o.m today goes to Sam Draper who never put a foot wrong all day at the centre of defence.

Well done boys.

2 October 2011

Toddy 3 v 1 Luton Old Boys

Boys started off slow, giving away an early goal, but fought back well with goals from Matt and an og just before the half to make it 2-1 at half time.

Boys added another in the 2nd half from Samni to run out 3-1 winners.  Man of the match on the day was Charlie for his hard work.

Sunday 25th September

AFC Kempston Tigers 0 Toddington Rovers 2

Superb team performance yet again today which was needed as we were up against a very good footballing side.  Neither keeper were really tested in the 1st half although Kempston did hit the crossbar on the 10 min mark.

2nd Half

Toddy scored on 49 mins when Sanmi stole the ball off the Kempston full back and crossed for Jam to bag the opener.  Matt finished off Kempston 78 mins with a good run and a superb finish.

Kempston had plenty of the ball today but the Toddy boys worked tirelessly to win it back and the effort and commitment from all the boys was very pleasing.

Man of the Match

M.O.M today was again a hard choice (which is good) but it goes to Joe Grossi who was an absolute rock in the center of defence.  Well done to the whole squad yet again today.

Sunday 18th September

South Luton 1 Toddington Rovers 6

A very good game again today against last years runners up.  The boys started off really well and should of had a goal in the 1st 30 seconds.   The boys had numerous chances in a game that they were dominating but it took until the 29 min for the 1st goal came and was scored by Matt.  Matt followed this up with another goal 2 mins later firing a rebounded effort into the bottom corner.  H.T 2 – nil Toddy.

2nd Half

Again Toddy started off the better and Matt took his hat trick on 50 mins.  On 52 mins Matt made it 4 with a great run and a sublime finish chipping the keeper form 12 yards out.  South Luton hit a goal back on 55 mins to make it 4 – 1.  The very hard working Chaz finished off South Luton  with a screamer from the edge of the area on 68 mins and scored again on 75 with a cool finish.

Man of the match

Hard choice again today for M.O.M with a number of candidates, but managers pick of the day goes to Charlie Clayton for his tireless hard work and his two good finishes.

Well done to the whole squad for a great team performance.

Sunday 11th September

Toddington Rovers 0 West Bletchley 2

First game of the season against last seasons winners of the league.  A very tough start of the season but the boys put up a great fight and were unlucky to come out 2 – nil losers.

Man of the match – This goes to Callum Smith who played some superb football in the center of the park.

All round a good performance from all the squad today and may it carry on that way.
